Some changes have taken place that concern the children's life: - because of their negligent work, we have dismissed two of our female social workers; - to replace them, we have employed two real ‘mothers’: Mother Bea, who had worked in the field of health before, has taken the children under her wing right away. She has been helping them since then with a great deal of love. Since she has been in the orphanage, children receive clean clothes every day and thanks to her competency, their health has also improved. At Mother Bea’s request, the orphanage is supplied with a great package of vitamins. Thanks to this, we can also devote a great care to the children's nutrition. We could raise the money available for food, and shopping also became easier. Now we can surprise the children with a variety of meals. The other lady, Mother Liena is widowed. Her children have already grown up, therefore she is the one who can spend the nights, too, with the children. Thus, at night not only the male social workers can take care of them, but a real Mother, too can stay with them, who can provide a remedy to all of their problems. Her profession is dressmaker, she has talent for all kinds of textile work. The girls all want to become dressmaker ever since she has arrived! Donation of medicines France’s quest for sponsors has resulted in success. To our surprise, the local drug producer company, where we usually buy great amounts of drugs for hospitals from the donations we receive, now supplied us with medicine as a gift, worth some thousands of dollars. The stock contains mainly medicine for children, medicine for the treatment of local diseases and different types of vitamins. Beside the orphanage, from this great amount we can also put aside a stock of medicine for the school. If anyone from the school needs medication, we direct them with the prescription to the orphanage, where Mother Bea gives them the right medicine(s) stocked and stored by Mother Bea herself. We have already had the chance to help a great deal of children and we will have now the opportunity to help even more!
