We try to lend a helping hand to as many African children and families in need as possible and to provide them with an efficient, cross-sectoral and sustainable assistance. Beside our projects on the ground, we also organise a number of presentations and programmes in Hungary so that everyone can discover the cultural and natural values of the African continent. We try to reach as great a public as possible, inform it about our work and win over new and new supporters for our cause. You can find updates on our projects and events by surfing the News.

Para College - seminar on waste recycling

2010. January 29.

After the inauguration ceremony of the new sanitary block, College Othniel students participated in a seminar, where they could learn about the damaging effects of plastic waste to the environment and the ways and benefits of the collection and recycling of waste.

The seminar was held by Dominique, who works for a company dealing with plastic recycling. In the future, we are planning to launch a cooperation with his company: families who do not have any funds to school their children, would collect the waste around the school and sell it to Dominique’s company, thus earning an in-kind contribution to the school fee of their children. This would also make the neighbourhood of the school cleaner and help to change the locals’ attitude towards waste accumulation. Apropos of the inauguration of the sanitary block, we are planning to hold a course on hygiene, too, in the coming days in order to make the children aware of the value of the new restrooms and showers so that they would use them accordingly.
