We try to lend a helping hand to as many African children and families in need as possible and to provide them with an efficient, cross-sectoral and sustainable assistance. Beside our projects on the ground, we also organise a number of presentations and programmes in Hungary so that everyone can discover the cultural and natural values of the African continent. The new school building was opened by France Mutombo

The social and educational center College Othniel’s new section, which is now available for the children, was built with the help of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Because of tragic death of Moise Kabamba (Papa Moise), head of our Orphanage, handing over of the new school wing took place without formal opening ceremony by France Mutombo on 12 May. The social and educational center College Othniel’s new section, which is now available for the children, was built with the help of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The success of the project is a great milestone in our Foundation’s history since during the yearly project the school founded and maintained mainly by Hungarian support went through significant development. As a result the school now has new, multifunctional classrooms built together and an administrative department, not to mention other infrastructural development in the existing classrooms. Therefore we can launch new educational programs and expand the current educational system for a greater usage of the new spaces.
The short-term goal of the project was creating the new building, improving the infrastructure and expanding the educational program. The long-term goal is increasing the school’s standards and prestige, providing access to local examination, creating new income sources, launching more programs for students and employing more teachers.
After all, students of the College Othniel can participate in a school education of a higher quality that help increase their quality of life. The classrooms are perfect for further education, where not only the children, but also the parents can learn about HIV/AIDS, protection of environment and other important topics. Increasing of capacity allows us to teach the children from the poorest families. The construction of the nursery school classroom gives the parents a greater opportunity to find employment.
