We try to lend a helping hand to as many African children and families in need as possible and to provide them with an efficient, cross-sectoral and sustainable assistance. Beside our projects on the ground, we also organise a number of presentations and programmes in Hungary so that everyone can discover the cultural and natural values of the African continent. We try to reach as great a public as possible, inform it about our work and win over new and new supporters for our cause. You can find updates on our projects and events by surfing the News.

We believe that the key to development is knowledge and that is the reason why the Foundation for Africa is primarily focusing its efforts on education. Through the years, more than 4000 disadvantaged children have been able to gain knowledge at our educational facilities in Africa. We pay attention to our students even after the final exams and support their higher education studies. We are proud to announce that a former student of ours, Daniel Kasongo has successfully obtained a degree in International Studies. By earning the degree, the fatherless young man, whose life had been full of vicissitudes, has a fair chance to be self-reliant.

This is how Daniel, now 25 years old, recalls the most difficult period of his life: “In the camp we lived in stables reconstructed for migrants, but – thanks to a non-governmental organization, J.R.S. – at least we had the opportunity to study. We finished the first six grades of primary school and then it all ended. The owner of the territory wanted his property back, so every migrant had to leave the camp. The following period was again extremely hard for us as we had nowhere to go.” Thanks to their diligent mother, Daniel and his siblings later continued their studies. Hard work has paid off: Daniel has become a learned young man.

We thank the supporters who have contributed to Daniel’s study costs. Helping is priviledge!
