Trip for the orphans
This is a completely different idea that struck into our minds, when we’ve become aware that the kids have almost never crossed the borders of the capital, Kinshasa.
Our destination would be Bombo Lumeni, a place in the jungle on a riverbank 130 km away from the city. We would like to overnight there in a small camping with bungalows for a reasonable price. The place suits perfectly for our needs in every sense: getting away from the dusty and overcrowded city to a silent and beautiful environment with a tremendous nature around.
Besides our team of five volunteers, a local NGO worker would join us too. However the travel, food and accommodation expenses for 17 people are far too high to cover for our NGO, which is in the middle of a large-scale school construction project. Having no other solution we have decided to try and raise funds this way.
