Construction of College Othniel – The first fully-owned school of Foundation for Africa

befejezett project

College Othniel was the first school where we introduced our student- and orphan support program. The building was in a terrible condition and during the years more and more student wanted to visit our institution – so we ran out of space. In 2002, we started our program with around 200 students and now we proudly say that approx. 750 children attend classes at College Othniel.

On 20th September 2005, with the presence of many of our supporters we held a ceremony in Kinshasa to announce the building of a new College Othniel. The first period of the construction ended in 2006, so the gates were already open for the school-year of 2006/07.
Currently, the building of the second block is in progress. Construction began in the end of 2013 and hopefully will be finished by May 2014. 8 classrooms are already fully prepared, and we expect that the other 3 will be ready by the deadline as well. Besides spaces for teaching, we also aim to build a roofed space for administrative tasks. At this moment, only the roof is missing.
This project is carried out with the co-funding of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign affairs.
